First, I have to show off my brother's garden. I am so proud of him! He dug out this whole area, mulched, put in sprinklers, planted, added rocks, the fountain...he's proud of it too. We went to Canton over this weekend too, and he found two rusty pieces to put in it for decoration - an old metal milk jug and a small shovel.
Hi, Eli!
For some reason I just liked this picture. Here we are at the entrance of the state fair, waiting to get going. I like the advertisement of my 31 picnic thermal tote too. Got that for my brother last year. He says the "gone fishin'' part is kind of embarassing to take out on his boat, but he does put the dog's treats in it when they go out on the water.
Mom had her knee replaced back in February, and it's still not 100% back to "normal." Walking long distances is still kind of difficult, and we really wanted her to come to the fair with us. It took some convincing, but mom agreed to rent a scooter. She was intimidated a little at first, but quickly got used to it....I was so proud of her for getting over her fear and using the scooter! She did great with it all day and really got to enjoy the fair.
Checking out the car.
Isn't that a good brother to pose with sister behind the cardboard cutouts??!
Maybe this should be our Christmas card.
Look! almost caught him actually looking AT the camera!
Me riding on the back of mom's scooter for a minute!
In front of the Big Tex!
My fried frito pie. It was tasty, but really, was frying it necessary?
Plum tuckered out.
Just an interesting picture.
Doug took Eli on one last little tour of a railroad history.
That weekend in Dallas was super duper busy - we went antiquing in Warrention on Friday morning, drove to Dallas Friday afternoon, went to Canton on Saturday morning, and the state fair on Sunday, then drove home that same day!!! That was a lot on the 2 year old (he didn't come on all of those adventures, mom watched him some), but he was a real trooper. Busy, but a good weekend!
